“Affirming Our Faith Journey”: LGBTQIA+ Book Discussion on Zoom

Enjoy the day! “Affirming Our Faith Journey”: LGBTQIA+ Bible Study: Reconciling Scripture Knox Presbyterian and Thanksgiving Lutheran churches invite you to an “Affirming Our Faith Journey” Scripture study on Sexuality and Gender Identity. We will study Bible passages using various interpretive lenses explored in Reconciling Scripture, by Austen Hartke and Emmy Kegler, theologians and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The commentary takes into account biblical integrity and knowledge and the diverse experiences of the LGBTQ+ community. The “clobber” passages are addressed as well as Bible passages that offer inclusive and expansive understandings of the nature of God’s welcome. Meetings will be held on Zoom on Thursdays – Oct. 14, Oct. 21, Oct. 28, and Nov. 4, at 6:30 pm. The book is available at a modest cost from ReconcilingWorks.org, or through Thanksgiving and Knox Churches. All are invited to join us for an affirming, open discussion.
